BULLETIN #1: Pray for THE GAMBIA: (place mouse over country name to see the map)

Pray for ministers and missionaries whose goals are being hindered by hierarchial systems, that have prepared themselves to hinder the work. Some of the hindrances are in the music departments of church organizations. Music that is exciting and makes one feel to dance and sing may not necessarily be led by someone who is ‘for real’. There are those who function with the influence to impersonate, that is, they are acting or pretending to lead others in the real form of worship.

Some of these music leaders are known and respected by many, but in reality, they are fake and are carrying out a spiritually designed function.

Pray that:

(a) the ministers will be protected from the evil plans of the enemy

(b) God will give them the gift of discernment

(c) Hindrances due to impersonators will be removed and people will be delivered (set free) to experience free and pure worship of God in Spirit and Truth.

(d) The power of the Spirit of Jesus Christ will be revealed through God’s servants in The Gambia

(d) Ministers and missionaries will acknowlege God as their helper and guide. What might seem to some like great men with titles who offer to assist them in the work, might in reality be nothing more than agents sent to derail the worship of God’s servants and the ungoing growth of the Kingdom of God.

Let God be your Guide. Let us pray for THE GAMBIA.

IT IS A CALL TO PRAY! - Introduction

We must pray for ourselves, each other, our countries and the world in which we live. Feel free to share your prayer requests. I will also be sharing some things about which we can all pray.

Is there a particular way to pray? Am I sure that there is someone out there who will hear me? We’ll talk about it and pray together.

For those of you who only desire to pray for things such as new clothes, a new ipod or cell phone, more money, a new boyfriend or girlfriend … you may wonder at times why we are listing certain prayer concerns. Afterall, why should we pray for a missionary in The Gambia, kids in Soweto, the church in Iraq, ill discipline in our nations’ schools, crime, talks of war, the spreading deserts around the world that are claiming once fertile land? And what about sickness and disease, plagues and threats of terrorism? Also, how do we pray to see positive change in the lives of youth in many churches who are as lost as a coin in the desert and they cannot see.

Of course we cannot forget our own need for food, love, clothing and shelter. There is so much to pray about, and this is where we will be listing issues that have been raised in prayer sessions.

Some issues will be presented in the form of Prophetic Intercessory Bulletins. These are specific concerns that have been ‘brought to light’ or revealed through prayer. Prayer intercessors (people who make requests to God on behalf of others) not only make requests, but they wait on God and receive answers or directions that he gives.

Sometimes this comes through a verse of scripture from the Bible, at other times by direct words through his spirit. For some, it may be through a vision and an interpretation. I know that this may seem like a lot for some of you, but as we go along we will give examples from the Bible as well as from life situations, in order to help you understand this thing called prayer. Prayer, the invisible freeway (highway) that you cannot see or touch, yet which is so very real and powerful. Prayer, which ignores boundaries of e-mail, cell phones, letters in envelopes, airplanes, ocean and wishes, and penetrates the thread of time and eternity, traveling back and forth, up and down, around and around, in and out to deliver a package, a question to God, and deliver an answer to mankind from him.

The last book in the Bible, Revelation, is a book that is heavily coded with messages that John, a follower of Jesus the Christ wrote to the churches. That book is like his bulletin. So, let your first prayer be that we present prayer issues in a manner that is constructively woven with wisdom and simplicity for all to understand.

When Jesus taught his parables, the crowd went away excited about the lessons that they had learned. For some, after hearing about the parable of ‘The Sower and the Seed’, they might have been able to relate to agricultural activities in the field. However, Jesus’ disciples also learned the lessons that they were supposed to learn from his teachings…

Let us pray …
